"F. Cat Twenty Two presents: The Universal Humm." is a one-off side project from Fact TwentyTwo's James Towning. Its a seamlessly mixed montage of processed spoken-word records, abstract studio experiments, and original electronic music. It was released on cassette in 1991.

From the cassette liner notes: "For what it's worth—the following numbers, letters (and words) were used in the production of this recording: ESQ-1, REX 50, SPX 90, TR 909, TR 606, TR 626,TB 303, KM 802, SH-1, RX 21L, NF1, MXR Delay, TASCAM 388 & PORTA-1, SCI-DRUMTRAKS, DVP-1, XD-001, DSD-2, SK-1 and 2 MIRAGES…. recorded at varying intervals starting in the late 1980's and well into 1991. Mixed and matched in July & November of 1991."
